I’m Nazaim Hussain, one of the original trustees of the Lion Gym & Boxing Club charity. From the very beginning, I’ve played an active role in ensuring that our organisation operates within the legal frameworks set out for charities. I help guide the charity’s legal responsibilities, making sure those entrusted with its strategic direction, management, and administration carry out their duties correctly and in full compliance with charity law.
Outside of my work with the gym, I’m a Legal Advocate and Director of Carr & Co, a well-established legal firm based in Huddersfield. I joined the firm in 1999 and now lead our Crown Court Department, where I manage a busy and complex criminal caseload.
My specialism lies in Proceeds of Crime cases, and I regularly advise clients in both office and prison settings to ensure their cases are prepared thoroughly and professionally. I work closely with in-house Counsel and Chambers-based Barristers to build strong defences in cases involving theft, violent crime, sexual offences, drug charges, fraud, and even murder.
My legal background has allowed me to provide essential support to the Lion Gym charity—helping us grow while staying on the right side of law and governance. It’s a privilege to use my expertise to support a cause that delivers real impact in our community.
